Anticipated Releases of 2017

This is a little late coming to you (I’m sorry, I’m sorry) but I thought I might share some of my most anticipated releases for 2017…that I shamefully put together back in 2016. It’s just been sitting here. Brewing. Anyway…

Allow me to share with you five of the books that are making me crazy excited about 2017.

Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo

The first from the list is Wonder Woman, Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo. I have loved every single book I’ve read of hers, so I’m practically drooling over this one already. Plot wise, I don’t know much about it, but I do know that Bardugo was allowed a lot of freedom with it, so I’m excited about what she’ll do with the story! I’m expecting at least 4 stars from this one. (Are my expectations too high? Maybe.)

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth
Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

Next on the list is Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. I was actually way too excited for this one. I remember hearing about it when I was in the middle of the Divergent series, and because I was so in love with that series, I guess I expected CTM to rank the same way with me as well. The small excerpt I read, though, was honestly awful, but I’ll give it another shot, I promise. ;) I’m hoping I’ll be able to give a solid 3 star rating to this one.

King's Cage by Victoria Aveyard
King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard

Ah, number three: King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard, the third installment in her Red Queen series. (Which I shamelessly adore.) This installment, however wasn’t for me…unfortunately. I’ll be posting a review soon, but basically what I felt was an unenthusiastic “eh”—I wasn’t captured or absorbed by it like I was with Red Queen or Glass Sword. That’s kind of controversial, but…whatever.

You can catch it here. / Release date: February 7

Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau
Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau

Next is Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau, which I actually remember almost nothing about. (Oops.) But I do remember that it sounded amazing. And involved twins and a throne… Something like that.

But, the real thing is…it’s said to be “perfect for fans of Victoria Aveyard and Sarah J. Maas.”

Obviously, that means I’m in. Like, so, so in.

Dividing Eden, I’m coming for you!

But up next is…

A Flame in the Mist by Reneé Ahdieh
A Flame in the Mist by Reneé Ahdieh

A Flame in the Mist by Reneé Ahdieh—which is memorable to me because her last name has “die” in the middle and I’m really hoping the character will get away without doing…that. ;) There’s been so much hype going on over this book, though, that I honestly couldn’t avoid it. (Not that I’d want to. I mean, that cover. Gorgeousness. Is it okay to buy books just for shelf appeal? Because I’m totally tempted.) This debut novel of Ahdieh’s, though, is a retelling of Mulan which totally has me excited. Definitely hoping to read and review this title soon!
